Drainage sumps equipped with one-piece or two-piece floor drains

Stainless steel drainage sump – effective floor drainage for food, meat and dairy processing

Our stainless steel drainage sump provides high-capacity point collection and rapid discharge of large water volumes and wastewater in industrial plants. Made of premium stainless steel, it functions as both a stainless steel sump and practical floor drain, perfectly suited to food processing, meat industry, food industry and dairy industry. Installed near machinery on production floors with high water usage.

Each sump includes a stainless steel floor drain – one- or two-piece – with side or vertical outlet connected directly to the internal drainage system. The integrated sediment bucket traps debris while the trap prevents odors.

With reinforced profiles on all four sides, the stainless steel disinfection sump ensures stability and durability in heavy-duty industrial floors. Often used as a boot disinfection station or hygiene transition zone with anti-slip grating or heavy-duty ladder cover.

Complements linear drainage systems such as stainless steel slot channel or stainless steel linear drain for a complete drainage solution in processing plants.

Frequently asked questions

What are drainage sumps and where are they used?

Drainage sumps are flat stainless steel tanks that collect water or liquids from a defined area – e.g. under production machinery, in wet cleaning zones or under industrial sinks. They combine collection (larger capacity than a single floor drain) with discharge (built-in outlet). Typical applications: food processing, meat plants, breweries, pharmaceuticals, commercial kitchens.

How do drainage sumps differ from floor drains?

A floor drain provides point drainage from a narrow zone. A drainage sump offers a larger collection area (typically 0.5-3 m²) and serves both collection and drainage functions. Use sumps where wet cleaning is localized (under equipment or wash lines); use floor drains where water spreads across larger floor areas.

Which drainage sumps for the meat industry?

For meat processing we recommend V4A stainless steel (resistant to organic acids and brine), perforated covers to retain fat and meat particles, integrated trap to prevent odors and sediment bucket for easy cleaning. Standard sizes: 600×600 to 1500×1000 mm. Compliant with HACCP and IFS – PZH approved materials.

Which drainage systems are compatible with drainage sumps?

Drainage sumps connect to sanitary drainage via DN 100 or DN 150 outlets. They integrate with building drainage systems – e.g. sump under machine → DN 150 floor drain → DN 200 channel → inspection chamber. TIG welded or EPDM gasket mechanical joints. Configuration matched to project requirements.

What sizes of drainage sumps do you offer?

Standard sizes: 400×400, 600×600, 800×600, 1000×600, 1200×800, 1500×1000 mm (length × width). Depths: 100, 150, 200, 300 mm depending on capacity. For single machines: 400-800 mm width. For wet cleaning lines: 1000-1500 mm. Custom shapes (oval, polygonal, with sorting inserts) produced to order from drawings.

Do the sumps include an integrated trap?

Most models are available with or without integrated trap. The trap prevents sewer odors and is required in food service and pharmaceutical facilities. It features a removable sediment basket for easy cleaning. Traps are mandatory in fermentation environments such as breweries.
