Frequently asked questions

What grade of stainless steel are B&K Group shower drains made from?

Linear shower drains are manufactured from stainless steel V2A (1.4301 / AISI 304) for standard bathrooms and V4A (1.4404 / AISI 316L) with molybdenum for environments exposed to chlorine or salt, such as pools. Stainless steel is hygienic and corrosion-resistant.

Is a linear drain suitable for a threshold-free shower (floor level)?

Yes. The linear shower drain is installed flush with the floor, enabling a barrier-free shower zone with easy access for people with disabilities. Water drains along a single line, reducing the required floor slope.

What type of drain should I choose for a shower?

We recommend a linear drain that collects water along its full length and allows large-format tiles. For larger floor areas or entire facilities, check our stainless steel drainage systems.

Are shower drains easy to keep clean?

Yes. The smooth stainless steel surface inhibits bacterial growth and is easy to clean. TIG/MIG welded construction with removable trap and grate simplifies maintenance.

Can shower drains be made to measure?

Yes. Linear drains are produced in custom lengths and finishes tailored to the bathroom project. On request we supply 3.1 mill certificate per EN 10204. Our stainless steel drains are exported to EU countries, UK, Turkey, the Middle East and Africa.

Do shower drains meet hygiene requirements?

Stainless steel is hygienic and easy to disinfect. We hold PZH approval and EHEDG membership; our solutions support HACCP requirements for pools, hotels and food-service facilities.
